Erik Gordon Bainbridge is an author, computer instructor, virtual world journalist, and videographer living in Northern California. While in graduate school studying screenwriting, he received two student screenwriting awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, one of them presented to him at the Northern California Emmy Awards.

 

He also directs and produces community television in San Rafael, CA. Several of his shows have won awards. He is currently directing two series: Jill Lublin's Messages of Hope and Nick Moorhatch's award-winning Recovery Station.

 

Apollo Manga is Erik's Second Life avatar; he can be contacted in Second Life by dropping a notecard in his inventory. Erik wrote his Master's thesis about virtual worlds in 1995 and has been active in virtual worlds since becoming a beta tester of There.com in 2003.

 

Erik has published one novel, Warrior Brothers, the story of a Coast Miwok/Pomo (California Indian) father and son marooned in space and is currently seeking a publisher for his second novel.

 

He earned a BA in German from Stony Brook University and an MA in Broadcasting from San Francisco State University, where he also did graduate work in Computer Science.
